The waterway, engineered by William Jessop and James Barnes, eventually linked London, via Brentford and the Thames, with the canals of the Midlands. This beautiful black and white photograph is hand made from a Bill Brandt Archive negative. Each print is on Ilford paper with a numbered stamp verso.
